The way we work with our clients is holistic – we understand that people who do not have a safe place to live, or enough food to survive cannot focus on legal proceedings. Our clients have been exposed to traumatic events and many find it difficult to speak about their experiences. Our Social Welfare and Counselling Teams support people who are seeking asylum in Hong Kong SAR to achieve social and mental well-being before and while engaging with lawyers to secure protection.
Our Social Welfare Team also supports refugees and other forced migrants to access basic goods and services, including food, clothing, shelter, healthcare and education.
Our Mental Health Programme connects those in need with free counselling services to help them overcome trauma and other mental effects of persecution, torture and displacement.
