Legal Services
Our lawyers at Justice Centre work to ensure that refugees, asylum seekers and other forced migrants have the necessary legal information, support and representation in Hong Kong SAR.
We provide tailored and dedicated support to migrants who experience unique challenges due to gender, sexuality, sexual orientation, age, race or ethnicity, statelessness and/or other characteristics.
In order to ensure that those who need it most have the best possible chance of a successful outcome, we undertake a rigorous screening process and prioritise the most vulnerable who are in need of protection under Hong Kong law.
Our legal services and screening process are delivered in conjunction with social welfare and counselling services to enable our clients to attain the highest possible levels of physical and mental well-being.
Our Justice Centre lawyers work in partnership with pro bono lawyers, duty lawyers and legal aid lawyers to deliver accessible and quality legal services.
Partnerships
Collaboration is at the heart of our working model.
Our work is made possible through our partnerships with leading law firms. Our pro bono partners donate invaluable time and resources to support our small in-house team of lawyers.
Our Justice Centre team provides training and technical assistance to pro bono lawyers, duty lawyers and legal aid lawyers, who are representing claimants in the USM process and related proceedings.
We also partner with universities. Our clinical legal education programme trains and engages future refugee protection practitioners.
