Amidst the pandemic, Justice Centre Hong Kong were proud to help our clients and their loved ones celebrate Eid.
On this very special occasion we were delighted to prepare and distribute dozens of food bags, which included many favourite ingredients, for what we hope was a delicious iftar.
For too long our clients have been left out of Hong Kong’s public health response – and have had to withstand months of inflated food prices, and shortages in staple food, whilst the minimal government food allowances have remained static.
As brave survivors of human rights violations, refugees and asylum seekers in Hong Kong have endured considerable challenges and hardships. We wanted to take this chance to show recognition that those seeking international protection are valuable members of HK society.
Many have strived to organise their own communities to spread reliable info on the coronavirus, and to support each other during these challenging times.
We wholeheartedly thank the East Asia General Store for helping us host and organise this event.
