Mia Paukovic

Head of Partnerships and Development

Life at JC

  • I strive to develop meaningful relationships with organisations and individuals who wish to support the refugee community in Hong Kong

Life Pre-JC

  • Justice Centre I worked at Transparency International in London on the devastating impacts of corruption in the arms trade and before that at the UN in Pyongyang on coordinating humanitarian aid.

Life Beyond JC

  • I’m loving getting to know Hong Kong, the fascinating neighbourhoods and the surprisingly ever-present nature. That is, when my two young kids will allow it..

Mia Paukovic is the Head of Partnerships and Development at the Justice Centre. She is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with the organisation’s various partners, overseeing activities that strengthen these connections, while also developing strategies to achieve a sustainable financial future for JCHK and realisation of its strategic goals.

Prior to joining Justice Centre in August 2022, Mia oversaw Transparency International’s global programme of anti-corruption in the arms trade where she worked with industry and civil society stakeholders to develop compliance and policy standards. She has a background in project management in the corporate and third sectors, including humanitarian response coordination for the UN in North Korea, marketing consultancy and energy transition research.

Favourite Quote

“Yes, thought the Count, the world does spin. In fact, it spins on its axis even as it revolves around the sun. And the galaxy turns as well, a wheel within a greater wheel, producing a chime of an entirely different nature than that of a tiny hammer in a clock. And when that celestial chime sounds, perhaps a mirror will suddenly serve its truer purpose—revealing to a man not who he imagines himself to be, but who he has become.” From A Gentleman in Moscow
