In this submission to the UK Parliament’s UK Trade with China Inquiry, Justice Centre highlighted the importance of businesses to engage in the protection of human rights and the rule of law. We call upon the UK Government to comply with the Sino-British Joint Declaration, international human rights treaties, the United Nation’s Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the UK’s National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights in the UK’s trade policy, and for the UK Government to engage with the Universal Periodic Review process as it relates to Hong Kong.
